It
all began with a Brown Thrasher
and an old wild rose with a
dead center large enough to
hide a small child. The child
would quietly sit in the rose
bush and watch the Brown Thrasher
for hours as the bird went about
the business of being a Brown
Thrasher.
From those early experiences
came a love of birds and a patience
in watching wild creatures that
few people possess. Interest
in the birds became knowledge
about the birds and then expanded
to other natural wonders - wildflowers,
butterflies, frogs, lizards,
snakes, dragonflies. This interest
in wild things continued into
adulthood.
After twenty-nine years as a
graphics professional, Sharon
circled back to her beginnings
- quietly watching nature -
but now recording it, combining
the
love of wild things with her
working experience in photography
and digital imaging.
The photos on these pages are
the product of patient observation,
photographic technique and the
natural wildness of South Carolina's
ACE Basin region, where Sharon
lives and works. Please feel
